The maximum daily dose of Nexium 24HR is 20 mg. The maximum daily dose of Nexium 24HR for the treatment of GERD is 40 mg. The maximum daily dose of Nexium 24HR for the treatment of AB is 20 mg.
Use of Nexium 24HR for the treatment of GERD should be avoided in patients who have shown persistent acid reflux disease (PALVO) or who are not responding to other proton pump inhibitors (PPIs).

Esomeprazole 20mgNexium 24HR is available in the form of an oral capsule. It is important to follow the recommended dosage and treatment plan prescribed by your doctor.
You should use Nexium 24HR as directed by your doctor and take it on an empty stomach (at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals). The amount of esomeprazole that you need to take will depend on what you are taking it for and how long you are taking it for.
If you are taking a different medication and your doctor has prescribed Nexium 24HR for another condition, it may be best to take it as soon as possible after your last dose.
Do not skip doses or stop taking Nexium 24HR or Nexium 24HR after you finish eating a normal meal.

Do not use Nexium 24HR if you have had an allergic reaction to esomeprazole 20mg or any of the ingredients listed at the end of this leaflet.
